The Great White Bison is a collection of Moto lifestyle Photo Books that focus on Vintage Choppers and late model Harleys. If you have never ridden a motorcycle, don’t worry, Heath uses first person perspective to put you on the road and behind the bars. In every volume Heath captures what the lifestyle is all about, good times, pretty ladies, and cold beer…you can’t forget the cold beer.

LM: How long have you been photo’ing motos?

HB: I’ve been shooting bikes for about 4 years now, I started out shooting a lot of black and white film out of college in Seattle and got serious about riding motorcycles shortly after I graduated. That was about 6 years ago, and I started combining the two after moving to Texas. It’s been a pretty natural progression combining the two things that I like doing the most, not to mention I’ve gotten to meet a lot of really awesome people along the way.

LM: How long did it take to put together each volume?

HB: Each book took about a year from Idea, to shooting, editing, design and a final printed book. Although they do document different lengths of time, Volume 1 covers about three years while Volume 2 spans a little less than a year.

LM: Whats your favorite camera body and lens to shoot with?

HB: My favorite camera is my pentax 6×7 with a 90mm lens, but it doesn’t lend itself well to riding and shooting photos, the camera I use the most is a Nikon D600 with a 50mm lens.

LM: What are you riding right now?

HB: I ride a honda shadow spirit 750 that been chopped up a little bit, it’s nothing fancy, but she’s mine and she gets the job done.

LM: What’s next for GWB?

HB: Started shooting for Volume 3 recently and I’m really excited about it. My band, Ladykiller, has been playing some shows and we’re talking about touring soon, so hopefully just staying busy and having fun!
